Christiana Presbyterian

Project Description

Complete repair of stucco application at the front entrance of the church and all four sides of the bell tower. Water intrusion from the roof and walls was causing the applied stucco to break free from the substrate which created an immediate need for repair. In order to safely access the work a modular scaffold system was constructed around the tower. Nowland Associates removed all loose stucco and installed an exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS). Several types of flashings were added and the roof was repaired in order to keep the space weather-tight. As a bonus, we were able to salvage the glass from the existing stained-glass windows and rebuild the units with a maintenance free frame and window opening.
